Steam Engine Manufacture​

For a side project in ME204 Mechanical Design, I was tasked to manufacture a steam engine from a drawing package while following tolerances and consequently build a 3D cad model. The engine was made of aluminum and brass and machined using the lathe and mill. The flywheel was modeled in CAD for weight optimization and balance. I then created the reverse mold and developed the toolpath in Siemens NX. After cutting the mold in the Shopbot I cast the flywheel in pewter and finished it in the lathe.
